In the May issue of Progressive Forage, an article titled “Summer conversion of toxic tall fescue” was published. The online version of that article prompted follow-up comments from readers. This article will address those comments.

Favorable winds are always desirable. We had two high school graduations to show up for this year. They were three days and 2,000 miles apart. Driving expenses were less than half the cost of airline tickets, so I used that as the excuse to drive.

The hay dog may be a small part on your baler, but the hay dog plays a critical role in the proper operation of a square baler. A hay dog, when operating as designed, serves to hold the hay in place when the plunger returns to the front of the baler.

I tend to get a little sentimental at times. Sentimentality is not an altogether bad trait, but it sometimes gets in the way of practicality and things like wise business choices. No doubt, sentimentality has cost me more than a few dollars over the years.
