GMO labeling compromise passes in Senate

A bill passed by the Senate late Thursday will require food manufacturers to list products produced from genetically modified seeds, crops and ingredients. Those labels can include printed labels, QR digital codes, texts or a link to a website, telling consumers the product has GMOs.

The Senate approved a bill establishing a national labeling system for foods produced with technology. With 2017 enrollment underway, the National Milk Producers Federation introduced new Margin Protection Program for Dairy decision tools.
