Cattle genetics are no longer just the focus of the registered breeder. Every producer strives to constantly enhance their herd each generation to make increasingly better cows that will produce more offspring at a better weaning rate with increased sale weights and that live longer.

Breaking into the cattle business isn’t easy. It requires land to graze and grow feed, equipment and genetics, making young producers a rare breed.

Every producer has their own unique way of working cattle based on what kind of facility and equipment they have as well as their herd size and type. Often pre-manufactured standard equipment does not accommodate these needs.

On a shaky foundation, volatility in the cattle market has made it difficult if not impossible for cattle producers to forecast profits or to use the trembling futures market for any sort of price protection this year.
