The November World Agricultural Supply and Demand Estimates report (WASDE) showed this month’s 2024-25 U.S. corn outlook is for lower production and ending stocks. Corn production is forecast at 15.1 billion bushels, down 60 million from last month on a 0.7-bushel reduction in yield to 183.1 bushels per acre.

Four national dairy leaders were featured at the Global Dairy Summit, held by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) on the expo grounds. The panel presentation covered the topics of global dairy product prospects, domestic dairy production and manufacturing trends, consumer dairy product purchasing patterns, and the future of dairy ingredients.

The September Feed Outlook report shows the 2024-25 U.S. coarse grains supply is relatively unchanged. This month’s outlook is for marginally higher supplies and slightly tighter stocks.

Projected beginning stocks for 2024-25 are 55 million bushels lower based on increases in exports and corn used for ethanol for 2023-24.

Rabobank’s yearly listing of the “Global Dairy Top 20” companies was released in late August, highlighting revenue performance of the world’s dairy industry leaders in 2023. Based on financial data in U.S. dollars, the combined sales of the world's 20 largest dairy companies were slightly up 0.3% from the year before.
