The feed market was strong in April, but milk prices held on to end the month with a $9.60 per hundredweight (cwt) income over feed cost margin. This is the second time in 2024 that indemnity payments are not triggered through the Dairy Margin Coverage program.

A $9.60 per hundredweight (cwt) margin was the result of a rally in milk during the second half of the month to offset the steady feed markets.
