A number of agriculture advocates were honored by the Wyoming Stock Growers Association (WSGA) during the Wyoming Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show, June 5-8 in Cheyenne. “This year's honorees join a distinguished list of Wyoming individuals who have contributed in diverse ways to the continued strength of agriculture in Wyoming,” said WSGA Executive Vice President Jim Magagna.

This year brings us to the 29th Annual Dryden Dairy Day. The parade is part of a full celebration of June Dairy Month.

LaSalle Ranch of Havre, Montana, has been selected as winner of the 2013-14 Montana Environmental Stewardship Award. The award is sponsored by the Montana Stockgrowers Association’s (MSGA) Research, Education and Endowment Foundation and funded by Montana Beef Producers with Checkoff Dollars. Each year, MSGA honors a Montana ranch that exemplifies environmental stewardship and demonstrates a commitment toward improved sustainability within the beef industry.

A study of an 
extraordinary family of cow antibodies, led by researchers at The Scripps
 Research Institute (TSRI) and coauthored by three investigators from Texas
 A&M College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (CVM), points 
to new ways to make human medicines. “These antibodies’ structure and
 their mechanism for creating diversity haven’t been seen before in other 
animals’ antibodies,” said Vaughn V. Smider, assistant professor of Cell and
 Molecular Biology at TSRI and principal investigator of the study.
