Study shows stability of MetaboLys BY-PASS LYSINE

October 14, 2012
The William H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute has released two studies that compared six rumen-protected lysine (RPL) products for both the release of lysine over a 24-hour period in high and low moisture total mixed rations (TMR) and the efficacy of rumen protection of RPL products after mechanical mixing in TMRs. In the first study, after 24-hour exposure in TMRs with either 40 percent dry matter (DM) or 52 percent DM, only 3.8 percent of the lysine in Metabolys BY-PASS LYSINE was lost.

S&W Seed Company announces agreement with Monsanto and Forage Genetics

S&W Seed Company has signed agreements with Monsanto and Forage Genetics International, LLC. (FGI). FGI has agreed to incorporate the Roundup Ready trait into specific S&W-developed varieties previously selected for high yield and salt tolerance.

Mark Grewal, chief executive officer of S&W Seed Company commented, "We are pleased and honored that Monsanto and Forage Genetics chose S&W as a business partner in the alfalfa seed market. FGI and Monsanto are the undisputed world leaders in pioneering biotech research for alfalfa."

Dow AgroSciences acquires Cal/West Seeds

October 12, 2012

Dow AgroSciences LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Dow Chemical Company, has acquired the assets of Cal/West Seeds, based in Woodland, California. Cal/West is a supplier of alfalfa, clover and other crops to seed companies and growers in the U.S., Canada, and 25 other countries. The addition of Cal/West Seeds expands Dow AgroSciences’ alfalfa business and strengthens its global forages business.
