Idaho dairies plan to appeal in case against Northwest Dairy Association

Three Idaho dairies plan to appeal the verdict in a case they brought against the Northwest Dairy Association over milk sales, according to a Capital Press article. Aardema Dairy, Bettencourt Dairies and Golden Valley Dairy filed a lawsuit four years ago against their co-op for taking a speculative position in the market with the milk the dairies had forward contracted with the organization.

The 144th Annual Meeting of the American Jersey Cattle Association (AJCA) and the 54th Annual Meeting of National All-Jersey Inc. (NAJ) are now in the history books! It was one of the most educational annual meetings in recent memory, with seminars by Roger Cady (co-author of the Jersey sustainability study) and AJCA staffers Cari Wolfe and Brad Barham. There was also an engaging talk at the NAJ Annual Meeting by Dana Coale, deputy administrator for AMS Dairy Programs, USDA.

Manure handling is an important aspect of farm management and is a combination of good barn hygiene and the preparation of manure for field fertilisation.

It is a great resource for farming and should be considered fundamental in farming and cropping, especially if we consider that the average manure production of a milking cow can vary from 0.35 to 1.25 metres cubed of manure a month.
