In dairy-related news the final week of November 2025: the Senate passes Whole Milk for Healthy Kids Act, the EPA and Army Corps unveil WOTUS proposal, the USDA launches a website for New World screwworm, and dairy leaders share progress and priorities at sustainability meeting.

Making headlines the second week of March 2025 includes the EPA revising the Waters of the U.S. rule, China's tariffs on U.S. dairy and fluid milk sales for January.

Although MLP support is targeted for individual producers, the National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) is urging cooperatives that spread losses across their membership to inquire about eligibility.

EPA has recently released further amendments concerning Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) guidelines that, while a step in the right direction, still leave much to be desired by ag industry stakeholders.

The new WOTUS rule revises the January 2023 definition to eliminate the “significant nexus” standard to determine when waters or wetlands are covered by the Clean Water Act, as well as the definition of “adjacent wetlands.”
