Sentera tailors DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise for ag

Sentera recently announced that its versatile Double 4K sensor is now compatible with the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise.

In recent years, ag drone systems have proven to be a suitable technology solution to get plant-level data at key growth stages throughout the season. Traditional data capture relied on manual methods that tend to be time-consuming and often prone to human error.

The company's Double 4K sensor, which is available in four variations, easily connects to the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise. The dual cameras on the sensor operate in tandem with the wide-lens camera on the drone, maximizing aerial capture for deeper insights.

Captured imagery can then be processed via the company's data science ecosystem to generate plant-level measurements, including:

  • Canopy cover – characterizing crop growth stage and development
  • Crop area – detecting and validating field borders digitally
  • Crop health – measuring the effects of products and treatments
  • Elevation and hydrology – modeling how water will flow within a field, fueling critical decisions about water management
  • Flowering – monitoring development and timing throughout the season
  • Height and lodging – measuring canopy height and detecting areas of lodged or damaged crop canopy
  • Residue cover – fueling critical decisions around soil management, including tillage and planting
  • Stand count – quantifying crop emergence and uniformity

The DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise Double 4K is now available for purchase. For more information, visit Sentera online.

Helm Agro adds new products to its portfolio

Scyon is a unique product that bolsters plant resiliency in adverse conditions by enhancing nutrient use efficiency, plant vitality and energy. Using those three main effects, it helps plants mitigate abiotic and biotic stress and supports nutrient efficiency to help crops thrive in adverse conditions.

It contains six natural metabolites in a potassium complex designed to support overall plant health and help reduce stress. By linking plant nutrition, water use and the plant’s energy-producing systems, Scyon increases overall plant vitality.

ACalsa SC is a calcium phosphite biostimulant complex designed to support the robust conversion of nitrogen to proteins in plant cells. With three distinct modes of action, the product provides multiple avenues to achieve beneficial plant health outcomes, leading to a more durable and efficient crop. Through a stabilized formulation and low use rates, the product is an efficient calcium phosphite delivery system and easy to use.

The biostimulant complex and calcium found in the product delivers a wide range of effects, depending on dose and timing.

New preservative applicator for round and small square balers

Dairymen, cattle producers, horse feeders and hay sellers now have new technology available for making and retaining the highest quality dry hay. Harvest Tec has introduced the most advanced preservative application for round and small square balers with the innovative 700 series commercial applicators.

This new series makes the process of applying preservatives easier and more efficient and has the capability to match the speed and higher capacity of today’s balers. The 700 series offers greater reliability from engineered simplicity, fewer components and less maintenance. It has been previously introduced for large square balers.

Based on predetermined application rates set by the operator, the system’s control module activates a single bypass pump that supplies constant pressure to a pulsating solenoid for instant response to changing moisture levels, controlling rates from 12 pounds to 348 pounds per hour for small square balers and 16 pounds to 460 pounds for round balers. The superior-quality flowmeter works for a range of products. The small square controller allows for the addition of a stroke counter, providing real-time strokes per bale for commercial operations demanding a consistent length of bale. With the addition of a GPS receiver, the 700 series records baling rates, providing dry matter yield maps for operations managing forage yields with precision technology.
