In a decision issued yesterday, Administrative Law Judge Jeffrey Boldt removed a major obstacle to the construction of the Richfield Dairy in Wisconsin by resolving challenges to two high-capacity well permits and a Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) permit.

Between 1930 and 2010, Texas has experienced a decline in its groundwater table level. A recent study on the trends of the past 80 years by Texas A&M AgriLife Researchers found that while agriculture irrigation is the main reason for this decline, population growth, high clay content soils with shale or claystone type geology and additional acres being covered by highways and parking lots have also had a hand in it.
