Following the annual general meeting of the Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC), which brought together some 200 dairy farmers from across the country in a virtual format, dairy farmers expressed concern that they have waited over a year for an announcement on the compensation owed for losses related to recent international trade agreements.
Lactanet Canada and Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) announced DairyTrace, the much-anticipated national dairy cattle traceability program, will become a reality in the fall of 2020, providing a single, common framework for dairy farmers to track animal identity and movements.

As the COVID-19 pandemic stretches on, DFC continues to work with government and provincial milk boards on your behalf to ensure that dairy farmers can perform continue to meet Canada’s market needs for high-quality and nutritious milk and dairy products.
Milk is an excellent source of vitamin B12. A glass of milk (250-millilitre serving) provides approximately half of the recommended daily intake of this vitamin for an adult.
In these challenging times, I am so proud the dairy farming community continues to be hard at work in supplying the milk that offers nutritious and high-quality dairy products to feed our nation.
In February, Lactalis Canada announced it will introduce DFC’s Blue Cow logo on its Cracker Barrel, Black Diamond, Cheestrings, aMOOza! and P’tit Québec cheeses made with Canadian milk. This means that by spring 2020, more than 8,000 dairy products will feature the Blue Cow logo.
