Liz Doornink Baldwin, Wisconsin Business Development Stewart-Peterson, Inc.

Please describe your agricultural background.
Although I am originally a city girl hailing from New York, the majority of my life has been spent on a hobby farm and on a dairy farm. I have spent over 20 years of my life working in the dairy industry as a producer, educator and in industry support. The dairy industry will continue to be my passion and my future.

What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I have a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin – River Falls in Broad Area Agriculture along with an emphasis in speech communications.

What territory will you cover?

Stewart-Peterson, Inc. is a nationwide company. I will be focused on aiding producers nationwide with their marketing needs.

What are your new responsibilities?
My new role for Stewart-Peterson, Inc. is business development. We are a commodity and marketing services firm offering opportunity and risk management services for our clients. We have a different approach here at Stewart-Peterson, Inc.; we do not focus on where prices might go – rather we prepare our clients with strategies for what the market may do.

What previous positions have you held?
I have been involved in agricultural sales, consulting, speaking and as an owner/manager of a family-operated dairy farm.

Will you continue to work with AFACT?
Yes, I will still continue my affiliation with AFACT. This organization is dear to my heart and we have many exciting projects we are currently working on.

What excites you most about working in your new role?
As a dairy producer, I truly understand the day-to-day challenges of managing such an operation. Milk markets are volatile and I have seen firsthand the value of a strategic approach to marketing. Dairy producers want to continue their legacy and remain a viable business for generations to come; we can only do this by managing effectively. I look forward to sharing the concepts of Stewart-Peterson, Inc. with other producers, as well as my personal experiences.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
I not only bring experience, but also passion and enthusiasm for the future of the agriculture industry. Of course, my love of a good cow and the respect of the dairy producers that work with them should help.

Why did you choose this company?
I chose Stewart-Peterson, Inc. because I was a customer who saw the benefits of the services they offered. I felt good about working with a team of people who want to see all producers grow and succeed.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My goals for my new role are fairly simple … reach out to as many dairy producers as possible to share the benefits of Market Scenario Planning. PD
