According to the 2014 Consumer Whey Protein Tracker Study, only three of 10 consumers correctly identified whey protein as a product of milk.
More than one-third of consumers believed that whey is plant derived from wheat, soy or corn. The study was guided and summarized by Dairy Management Inc. and backed by the U.S. Dairy Export Council.
