The 2013 Wisconsin Holstein Association State Picnic was held on Saturday, August 17, at the Siemers’ Holstein farm of Newton, Wisconsin. Over 400 Holstein enthusiasts enjoyed food, weather and camaraderie on a beautiful August day.
After a great meal, picnic guests were able to view some of the Siemers' elite Holstein females. Nearly 80 people participated in a lead-out judging contest that featured three classes.
The afternoon's program featured updates from Wisconsin Holstein leadership, as well as National Holstein Board representative Corey Geiger, and updates from Manitowoc County leadership and youth.
Following the program, Tri-Day Ashlyn was released into a grass lot for bossie bingo. Squares were sold to benefit the Wisconsin Junior Holstein Association, the Manitowoc County Junior Holstein Association and the Manitowoc County Holstein breeders.
The grand prize bingo winner was Todd and Trish Hoesly of Brodhead, who went home with $1,000. PD
