The Don Hale Hall of Fame Award was presented to Jim Blanksma of Mountain Home at the 2013 Idaho Hay and Forage Conference, held in Burley.

Jim Blanksma has served on the Idaho Hay and Forage board of directors for 14 years, serving as president from 2001 to 2003.

The industry recognized Blanksma for his solid support and guidance over the years, positive thinking and dedicated spirit on behalf of the hay and forage industry that has resulted in moving the association and industry forward to higher levels of respect throughout the U.S.

In presenting the award, Glenn Shewmaker, U of I Extension Hay and Forage Specialist, stated, “Jim has a quiet style of leading but is a very effective communicator who promotes the hay and forage association with well-thought-out comments and leadership”.  FG
