The Grilled Cheese Burrito, whose creation was supported by a dairy checkoff food scientist and quickly gained iconic status with Taco Bell fans, has become a permanent menu item.

Heavy snow and blizzard conditions impacted land and air travel to the Western Dairy Management Conference, Feb. 28-March 2 in Reno, Nevada. Broader industry topics such as the checkoff, farm bill and ag labor were covered.

The dairy checkoff continues to partner with YouTube sensation Jimmy Donaldson – aka “MrBeast” – who challenged a group of gamers in a custom Minecraft gaming competition featuring a dairy-dedicated level with a chance to win cash.

I sometimes hear farmers ask why the checkoff is involved in efforts focused on animal care and sustainability. To me, the answer is simple: the checkoff, nationally and locally, has the unique ability to convene stakeholders and to be a unifying leader to most effectively promote the good work of farmers and the dairy community.
