Last month, I attended World Dairy Expo (WDE) in Madison, Wisconsin, for the first time. After three days at the show, here are five things I think every first-timer should experience.

Winter arrived early in some parts of the country, and combined with the resurgence of China in the export market, the demand side of the forage market appears to be heating up. While forage quantity might not be the pressure point, quality almost certainly will be.

A recent study conducted by UNIFORM-Agri compared dairy herd management data among nine countries: Canada (CA), United States (U.S.), Spain (ES), France (FR), Netherlands (NL), United Kingdom (UK), Germany (DE), Belgium (BE) and Denmark (DK)(the bulk of the participants were from the Netherlands and the United Kingdom).

There are two sides to the dairy industry right now, depending on which side of the border you are on. In Canada, the sector has positive momentum.
