Please describe your agricultural background.
Growing up on my family’s dairy farm in Arizona, I was fortunate to gain an understanding of what it takes to run a dairy from a young age. I helped out in various ways, from working milking shifts to treating cows in the hospital barn. Over the years my responsibility on the farm increased, as did my interest and passion for the dairy industry.

What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I recently earned a bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College in business/economics.

What territory will you cover?
Stewart-Peterson is a national company and continues to grow and expand its territory, I will have the opportunity to serve dairy producers from all over the country.

What are your new responsibilities?
As a dairy market adviser, I will provide strategic recommendations and marketing support to help dairy producers maximize opportunities and minimize risk for their operations.

What previous positions have you held?
In addition to working several positions on the family farm, I most recently had an internship with a dairy brokerage firm based out of Chicago. During my time there, I spent time on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade, performed market research and assisted with client services.

What excites you most about working in your new role?
Since we work with dairy producers from coast to coast, I am excited to learn about different operations around the nation and find ways to customize risk management recommendations to fit the needs of each client’s marketing goals. It is a very exciting and rewarding role because we seek to protect what producers work so hard to earn.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
With my background in the dairy industry, I am looking forward to working with dairy producers to help them gain confidence with marketing decisions. I know firsthand how difficult it can be for a producer to make marketing decisions, but having confidence in a consistent marketing strategy is the key.

I chose Stewart-Peterson because I am a firm believer in a strategic approach when it comes to marketing. By using market scenario planning, our clients are prepared for wherever the market goes – higher or lower.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My primary goal in this position is to build long-lasting relationships with the producers I serve by gaining their confidence and accomplishing their marketing goals. I look forward to helping producers successfully stay in business so they can have a profitable operation to pass on to the next generation of dairy producers. PD
