The Professional Dairy Managers of Pennsylvania will host its next Issues Forum on Thursday, Aug. 4, in Galena, Maryland. In keeping with their programming focused on managing risks and maximizing profits, PDMP will cover all aspects of dry matter management at the forum.

An elite panel of experts will provide practical and pragmatic insight to get the most out of a farm's dry matter. They'll cover everything from planting to storage to feeding, while offering suggestions for improving the health of the animals, environment and the farm budget.

After lunch, PDMP will lead a tour at the nearby Jones Family Farms in Massey, Maryland, one of the top 20 dairy businesses in the 2010 Farm Credit Dairy Benchmark Study.

To aid in travel, PDMP has chartered a bus departing from Harrisburg and Lancaster. The bus departs at 6 p.m. from the North Parking Lot of the Farm Show Complex and at 6:50 a.m. from the parking lot of Home Depot in the Red Rose Commons Shopping Center.

Seats on bus are available on a first come, first seat basis so be sure to mark the appropriate space on your registration form or call (877) 326-5993 so PDMP can confirm your bus reservation in person.
