The Kewaunee County Dairy Promotion is kicking off “June is Dairy Month” with a breakfast on May 29 at Rendezvous of Luxemburg, Wisconsin. The buffet will be served from 6:30-8 a.m. with the program beginning at 7 a.m.

Carrie Mess will be the keynote speaker for the Kickoff Breakfast. Mess, known as “Dairy Carrie,” is a dairy farmer, blogger, speaker and agvocate for Agriculture from Lake Mills, Wisconsin, farming in partnership with her husband, Patrick, and his parents on their 100-cow dairy farm.

Mess will talk about our food by sharing her story and how she connects with those unfamiliar with agriculture via social media and her blog called, The Adventures of Dairy Carrie. Sharing candid stories of her “life on the farm” and tackling tough subjects has led to her to being featured in The Guardian and Huffington Post as well as several trade publications.

The committee will also introduce the 2014 Kewaunee County Breakfast on the Farm hosts, Cornette Dairy LLC. Their dairy farm is excited to be hosting the annual event on Father’s Day, June 15.

Tickets are $8 and available at BayLake Bank in Kewaunee, Kewaunee County University of Wisconsin Extension Office, or from any Dairy Promotion Committee Member. Tickets will also be available at the door. PD
