To be eligible for this award, an individual must:

  • Be a dairy farmer with quota holdings in Canada.

  • Have a dairy operation with an up-to-date environmental farm plan developed in the last five years in accordance with applicable provincial programs.

Up to four finalists can be chosen. The winning farm’s accomplishments will be celebrated in a video which will be unveiled at DFC’s annual general meeting in Vancouver in July 2015, where the winner will also receive a trophy and a prize of $2,000. 2015 Canadian Cheese Grand Prix

The 2015 Canadian Cheese Grand Prix is back for its ninth consecutive year. This prestigious national competition honours our Canadian cheesemakers, giving them the opportunity to showcase the expertise and passion they invest in their craft.

DFC sponsors this nationwide competition to honour all categories of Canadian cheeses made from 100 percent Canadian cow’s milk and certified as such.

cheeseWith this event, DFC wishes to encourage competitiveness and product excellence in Canadian cheese-making as well as increase the knowledge and appreciation of Canadian cheeses among industry professionals and consumers.

Online registration for the Grand Prix started on Dec. 1 and ended Jan. 23. The judging will take place on Feb. 21-22, and industry professionals will be watching as winners are announced at the Gala of Champions in Toronto on April 22.
