National program for genetic improvement of feed efficiency in beef cattle

The National Program for the Genetic Improvement of Feed Efficiency in Beef Cattle is a multi-year project funded by the USDA and involves numerous scientists, industry partners, breed associations, and cattle producers who are collecting feed intake, growth, and carcass composition data as well as DNA samples from over 8,000 animals encompassing eight beef breeds.

New Holland upgrades cab on T6 and T7 tractors

New Holland has upgraded its Horizon cab on model T6 and T7 tractors, making their use more comfortable and efficient for the driver. Features aim to enhance the operator’s environment. Air conditioning and lighting control panels, additional storage slots and radio have all been clustered within the roof lining, enabling operators to fine tune their controls on the move while still keeping their eyes on the road. And charging points have been provided for mobile phones and other electrical items.

Federal judge grants FDA request for consent decree with Idaho farm

The U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho entered a consent decree of permanent injunction against owner Gregory T. Troost, doing business as T&T Cattle and T&T Cattle Pearl, and manager Mark A.
