Your February article by Heather Smith Thomas (“The three P’s in a calving 911”) quoted veterinarian Robert Callan, who says a prolapsed uteruses is a one-time event. That’s the first time I’ve heard this. In over 50 years in the business, I’ve been told to cull those cows and their offspring, and that a prolapsed uterus is from a genetic defect in the muscle tone of the animal. —Ed from Wyoming
