May 2026 USDA Feed Outlook report

May 26, 2026
Abigail George

The May Feed Outlook report shows global coarse grains supply in 2026-27 is projected at 2,156 million metric tons (MT), 15 million MT lower than 2025-26. Foundation Watch: Leave a legacy behind

May 26, 2026

There’s a certain sound that lives in the countryside. It’s not a song you hear on the radio, but one that settles into your bones over a lifetime. The value and assets dairy producers build over a lifetime can’t be taken with them, but they can be directed with a purpose.

Irons in the Fire: Just close the gate

May 25, 2026
Paul Marchant

As far as winters are concerned, the past one was pretty easy on me. I started to get quite concerned in mid-January when I glanced up at the mountains to the east where my summer water supply is usually stored in the form of some stout drifts and snowpack on the peaks and in the draws and north facing hillsides.

The Milk House: Lessons from the streets

May 25, 2026
Ryan Dennis

Part of being on a farm in the last three or four decades, I would argue, is the feeling of being misunderstood – or worse, forgotten. The harder it became to make a living in the industry, the more it felt like no one cared. The sense of tribalism, at least my participation in it, was to reassure myself that there were others like me and my family and that we still mattered.

Life on the Family Farm: Raising the flag on Iwo Jima

May 25, 2026
Tom Heck

I learned a number of years ago that the raising of the American flag at Iwo Jima was nothing like it is portrayed in Washington D.C.

Just Dropping By: The plagues of Egypt

May 25, 2026
Yevet Crandell Tenney

The plagues of Egypt. What an awesome, awful story. It has always made me shudder and wonder why a loving God would bring such curses upon the entire country of Egypt when it was Pharaoh who made all the decisions.
