The Charles and Mary Ann Goodnight Ranch State Historic Site

Charles Goodnight, cattleman and entrepreneur, established the Goodnight-Loving Trail and experimented with crossbreeding Hereford and Angus cattle. His wife, Mary Ann “Molly” Goodnight, known as “Mother of the Panhandle,” was a teacher and later a rancher, who supported cowboys and established a bison herd.
