Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) is proud to announce the launch of the new DFC Student Program, a dedicated initiative for students and postdoctoral researchers involved in DFC-funded research projects.

Canadian dairy and the Blue Cow Quality Milk certification logo stand out because of farmers’ commitments to quality, animal care, environmental sustainability and food safety. Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) shares the story behind these commitments in its new three-episode podcast mini-series, The Value of proAction. 

Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) is piloting on-farm projects to gather farmers’ experiences and perspectives in two key areas: the new and updated Code of Practice for the Care and Handling of Dairy Cattle, and further implementation of sustainability tools to measure greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. 

Every year Dairy Farmers of Canada (DFC) invests in scientific research to advance the future of the dairy industry. In 2024, DFC invested $2 million in human nutrition and health, as well as dairy production research, along with an additional $7 million leveraged through grant opportunities and partnerships.

Dairy farmers across Canada have already been taking action toward a sustainable future. In an effort to continue this progress, DFC and the provincial associations are proud to announce the launch of a pilot project to test an on-farm GHG emissions calculator.
