Karen Lee
On Sept. 11-13, the 19th edition of Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show (COFS) will be held at Canada’s Outdoor Park in Woodstock, Ontario. The COFS team and its exhibitors have worked tirelessly planning demonstrations and events for the 40,000+ attendees – including two major field demonstrations. "Our field demonstrations provide a unique opportunity for our exhibitors to showcase their products in a field of competitors," says Paul Roper, COFS exhibitor sales and demonstrations coordinator. "This year, we are excited to run two major field demonstrations for moldboard ploughs and solid manure spreaders."

We did it!

July 20, 2012

One of my daughter’s favourite cartoons is “Dora the Explorer.” At the end of the show, Dora and her monkey pal, Boots, sing a song.

Proud to have finished their task of the day and traveling to their three locations, the duo repeatedly sing the words: “We did it.”

That portion of the show is really resonating with me at the moment because I have a couple of reasons to stand up and shout, “We did it!”

Third-party investors help make digesters a reality

July 19, 2012
Karen Lee
It has been said that anaerobic digesters are the future for dairy farms and vice versa. At the same time there are a few issues to overcome to make this future a reality. Beating bugs and planning ahead

June 8, 2012
Karen Lee

It has become a nightly game in my farmhouse to “get the bugs.” My 2-year-old serves as the bug spotter while myself or my husband is the bug squasher. In the game, my daughter points and exclaims, “Bug! Bug!” until we see the fly and go after it. She then usually lets us know whether or not we were successful – even though she’s not always accurate in her proclamation.
