Udder Tech celebrates 20th year at World Dairy Expo
Udder Tech (AR 500-503) first went to World Dairy Expo in 1994 to debut their first product, the Towel Tote. Cheryl Mohn, president of the company and previous dairy farmer, saw a need for a more efficient way to get things done in the barn, and so the idea was born. Today, the company is still finding ways to be innovative and help farmers be more efficient.

To celebrate their 20th year, complimentary milk and cookies will be available at World Dairy Expo each morning at the company’s booth. Be sure to stop by and visit with Cheryl and her staff while enjoying cookies and milk and browsing the wide range of products that are offered.

#BreedBattle social media campaign
While many will be battling it out on the colored shavings, Zoetis (EH 3811) is preparing for a #BreedBattle of its own. All Expo week, tell the company what breed you love by posting one of the below hashtag shout-outs on its Facebook page. The breed with the most hashtag mentions wins.

#IheartHolsteins
#IheartRedandWhites
#IheartGuernseys
#IheartJerseys
#IheartBrownSwiss
#IheartAyrshire
#IheartMilkingShorthorns

They’ll also have “I heart” buttons at the booth so people can sport their breed love proudly all week.

Hoof trimming clinic
Come join other trimmers at this clinic while attending World Dairy Expo. Host farm this year will be Shelly and Bob Johnson. The farm is located about 20 minutes from Expo. The farm features a new tiestall barn. Shelly milks mostly Holsteins, some Jerseys and various crosses.

The event’s coordinator is Skip Blake, a longtime trimmer and past Hoof Trimmers Association board member. Richard Weingart will be a featured trimmer and will assist in coordination.

The clinic is open to all trimmers and scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon. Light snacks and drinks will be provided but no formal lunch. Farm address, directions and map will be available at the Hoof Trimmers Association’s booth (MC 66). Carpooling may be coordinated.

“I go beyond for dairy”
Agri-Nutrition Consulting (ANC) (EH4403 ) is rolling out its brand-new look and initiative to “go beyond nutrition” for farmers and for the dairy industry. This campaign encourages farmers to share all of the ways they care for their animals.

The goal for this initiative is to open the conversation between consultants and farmers about working together to create management programs, practices and solutions that work best for each individual farm’s needs; also bringing general awareness to the general public.

To participate in the campaign, stop by the company’s booth. Each participant will receive a free shirt and will be entered to win a $100 gift certificate. Keep the conversation going online by using the hashtag #igobeyondfordairy and mention @ANCAgNutrition.

Exclusive silo jewelry charm
Cow Art and More (EH 6303) is excited to introduce their newest jewelry charm. The upright silo, created by artist and veterinarian Kathy McComb Swift, is the latest in her series of handmade charms. The sterling silver charm measures 5/8 inches tall and 1/4 inches wide. It is suitable for a pendant or charm bracelet. Gold charms are available by special order.

Diamond V presents SPC tool
Statistical process control (SPC) is a tool to sort real differences in the data from normal or random variation. Originally developed for use by manufacturing industries, SPC can help dairies that measure key parameters – such as milk production, dry matter intake, bulk tank milk components, etc. – in which seasonal patterns can be predicted.

Diamond V (EH 3005-3106B) will be discussing this new management tool at its booth throughout the week.
