• Winners of the 2013 National Dairy Quality Awards Platinum Award, sponsored by Merial, are Randy and Kathy Bauer of Faribault, Minnesota; Donald Beattie of Holton, Michigan; Gordon Dick of McBain, Michigan; Duane and Janet Molhoek of Falmouth, Michigan; Sean Quinn and Melissa Murray of Greenwich, New York; and Dennis and Doris Tubergen of Ionia, Michigan.

• California Dairy Campaign (CDC) and California Farmers Union (CFU) leaders presented Rep. David G. Valadao, CA-21, with an award for outstanding agricultural leadership during its joint annual convention in Hanford. Valadao introduced the “California Federal Milk Marketing Order Act,” which was passed in the House farm bill to enable California to join the Federal Milk Marketing Order system.

• The St. Louis AgriBusiness Club awarded Dave Drennan the Agribusiness Leader of the Year Award, Jan. 14 at its monthly meeting. Drennan has made significant contributions to the promotion, development, improvement and well-being of the agriculture industry, most of it spent in the St. Louis region.

• Danielle Bull, 19, representing Clackamas County, Oregon, was crowned the 2014 Oregon Dairy Princess-Ambassador. The 55th annual coronation event was hosted by the Oregon Dairy Women at the Red Lion Hotel in Salem.

Bull was among seven county contestants vying for the 2014 title and was selected as the Congeniality Award winner, an honor chosen by her peers. She is a 2012 graduate of Clackamas High School, where she was active in the North Clackamas FFA Chapter. PD
