What education are you bringing with you to this position?

I attended the University of Wisconsin – River Falls and earned my bachelor’s degree in dairy science with a minor in agronomy.

Please describe your agricultural background.
I grew up on a 60-cow, 320-acre registered dairy farm near Greenwood, Wisconsin. After the sale of our cattle, my family continues to farm about 500 acres of no-till corn and soybeans. I have also worked on several dairy farms of different sizes and operation types in the area.

What territory will you cover?
I am based in Loyal, Wisconsin, but I work with customers throughout Wisconsin and the upper Midwest.

What are your new responsibilities?
I serve as a resource for producers and end users to make their businesses profitable. I assist with risk management strategies in the grain and commodity markets as well as assure consistent, on-time delivery of products.

Who has had the biggest impact on your career?
Several people have made large impacts on my life and career. If I had to choose just one, I would pick my high school FFA advisor, Lindsay Meissner. Without her, I certainly would not have been exposed to many of my great agricultural experiences or met many of the industry peers I still work with today.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
Being a resource is how I will be of most help to my customers. When customers call me, they want to know various things, from pricing to delivery to information on the markets. Many customers are dairy producers and since I’m from a dairy farmer myself, I can relate to their needs and use those experiences to serve customers better.

Why did you choose this company?
When my family was dairy farming, we were customers of Vita Plus Loyal. Some of my extended family members have been employed here and I’ve known other Vita Plus employee owners for several years. The fact that Vita Plus is employee-owned was a big draw for me. I’ve seen what good the company has done for its customers and knew that people are happy working here. It’s a good atmosphere.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My main goal is to provide customers with a quality product in a timely fashion. I also look to help the company be successful while providing first-rate customer service to our producers and end users.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
I plan to still be working with customers to help them achieve their business goals. I also hope to be more involved in my family’s cropping operation while also potentially raising some livestock. PD
