A Massachusetts-based dairy cooperative is planning to consolidate its operations and renovate an industrial facility in Waitsfield, Vermont.

The co-op, Agri-Mark Inc., will pay $2.8 million to buy and renovate the 28,000-square-foot building formerly owned by Northern Power Systems, according to the Times-Argus as reported in the Associated Press.

The Vermont Economic Development Authority is providing a $2 million loan.

The purchase will allow the co-op’s Cabot operations to consolidate leased space in Montpelier, Burlington and Cabot to Waitsfield, the news agency reported.

Between 80-100 of the co-op’s 599 Vermont workers would relocate to Waitsfield. PD
