“NACD is pleased that NRCS is taking efforts to ensure that farm bill conservation programs are well suited to address local conservation needs,” NACD President Tim Palmer said. “Water quantity concerns exist across the country but are perhaps most acute in the western United States.”

NACD’s comments emphasize that through the locally led conservation delivery process and conservation-district-led local work groups, all conservation programs can be best tailored to ensure local needs are addressed. 

“That is ultimately the best way to ensure NRCS’s goals of addressing water quantity concerns in the West and across the country,” Palmer said.
