Dennis Miguel

Job title: First Defense sales and marketing regional manager
Company: ImmuCell Corporation

What education are you bringing with you to this position?

I have an associate’s degree in dairy science from Modesto Junior College and a bachelor’s degree in animal science from Cornell University. In addition to that education, I have eight years of sales experience in the dairy industry and more than 15 years of experience in dairy management and ownership.

Please describe your agricultural background.

After growing up on our family dairy farm in the Central Valley in California, I owned and operated my own dairy business. Dairy farming and cattle have been a part of my life since I was born.

What territory will you cover?

My territory includes California, Nevada and Arizona.

What are your new responsibilities?

In my new role, I’ll work more closely with veterinarians than I have in the past. While I’ve always had a strong relationship with them, I now have the opportunity to collaborate on a daily basis – supporting veterinarians and promoting the company’s product line, as well as keeping them informed on the latest research and performance data related to our products. I’ve also maintained excellent relationships with dairy producers and distribution partners throughout my territory, and I look forward to strengthening those partnerships even further moving forward.

What previous positions have you held?

Previous positions include dairy management/ownership, five years in dairy policy and environmental support and eight-plus years in dairy nutrition/feed additive sales.

Who has made the biggest impact on your career?

Family and dairy producers have had the greatest impact on my career. My family has been a constant source of support, standing behind the decisions and paths I’ve chosen over the years. At the same time, dairy producers have provided me with a meaningful way of life – allowing me to support my own family while contributing to the growth and success of theirs.

How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?

My greatest assets have always been my industry knowledge, strong people skills and hands-on experience within the dairy industry. Having personally faced many of the same challenges as my customers and colleagues over the years, I’m able to offer support and guidance. This shared experience has been invaluable in helping others – and myself – navigate obstacles and find effective solutions.

Why did you choose this company?

ImmuCell products have a longstanding reputation for performance and are held in high regard by dairy producers, calf raisers, veterinarians and nutritionists. I’m committed to promoting the integrity and effectiveness of these products to the best of my ability. In addition, the First Defense team atmosphere is truly second to none, making it both enjoyable and motivating to come to work every day. The strong team collaboration plays a key role in driving success for both the products and the company.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?

My goal is to grow the territory to its fullest potential and continue to service existing clients, meeting their needs in any way possible.
