Jennifer Brown
Job title: West Territory Sales Manager, Ruminant USA
Company: Jefo
What education are you bringing with you to this position?
I have a bachelor’s degree from South Dakota State University (SDSU), and I am a CowSignals master trainer.
Please describe your agricultural background
Agriculture has been a consistent thread throughout my entire life. I grew up on a small, diversified farm in South Dakota and graduated with a degree in agriculture and animal science from SDSU.
What territory will you cover? What are your new responsibilities?
I will be focusing on introducing company products to the Texas dairy market as well as supporting existing business in California and Arizona.
What previous positions have you held?
My resume is a long and winding road with some great stops along the way, including time with the New Mexico Department of Agriculture, Reeves Hinger Elementary School, Standard Dairy Consultants, Adisseo, Lallemand and now Jefo.
Who has made the biggest impact on your career?
It is hard to narrow it down to one person, but I would have to say that Dr. Robbi Pritchard was one of my earliest influences as I studied at SDSU and worked for him in his office and at the Nutrition Unit, SDSU’s research feedlot. With his guidance, I learned to pay attention to what the animal is telling us, and his voice still pops into my head when I am on farms.
How will you be of most help to producers in your region or area of expertise?
The precision nutrition that rumen-protected products offer is a unique way to support today’s high-producing animals. We can improve their feed efficiency and positively impact the animal’s health status; both positively impact the producer's bottom line.
Why did you choose this company?
The company is a family-owned company and has recently expanded its production capacity. I am excited to be part of a team to deliver these high-quality products to U.S. producers.
What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My goal is to improve the health and well-being of animals so that producers can improve their production and maximize profitability.
