Motivated by their journey as Belgium immigrants turned American citizens, De Saegher Dairies launched Project FULL – Fuel Up Little Learners, a weekend nutrition program feeding hundreds of local schoolchildren. What began as a desire to give back has evolved into a movement aimed at ending childhood hunger – one backpack at a time.

When Stephanie and Hayley Painter were growing up in rural Pennsylvania, they didn’t think they had a unique lifestyle. Born and raised on an organic dairy farm in Tioga County, the pair grew up milking cows, feeding calves, running barefoot, working alongside siblings, aunts, uncles and cousins, and enjoying the rolling hills of the Northeast. 

Consumers may have another reason to head to the yogurt aisle to reach for a protein-rich cup of yogurt to fill them up and fuel them throughout their day. Yogurts can now make limited claim to lower Type 2 diabetes risk. 

Yogurt is a delicious and nutritious way to kick-start your morning and fuel up for the day ahead. One of my go-to breakfast foods is a strawberry, blueberry yogurt smoothie. However, for June Dairy Month this year, I wanted to change up my morning routine a bit and learn a few new quick and easy breakfast treats that include yogurt.
