The Jersey All American and Reserve All American winners of 2011 have been announced by the American Jersey Cattle Association, Reynoldsburg, Ohio. The awards were presented Nov. 7 during The 59th All American Jersey Show, viewed by a large ringside and broadcast worldwide on streaming Internet video from Freedom Hall in Louisville, Kentucky. Imprinted certificates were presented to 26 owners or partnerships from 12 states.

David A. Lawstuen, a dairy science instructor at Northeast Iowa Community College, recently was named Iowa Professor of the Year by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education and The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation held its 92nd Annual Meeting in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, earlier this month. A number of dairy producers were presented awards or elected to serve the organization.

Each year the Dairy Business Association (DBA) honors those who have made significant contributions to the dairy industry by recognizing them with either the DBA Advocate or DBA Leadership awards at the Annual Business Conference held Nov. 29 and 30. This year DBA recognized Dr. Don Niles and Secretary Ben Brancel.
