DeLaval sells 10,000th VMS to Ontario farm

DeLaval recently sold its 10,000th Voluntary Milking System (VMS) to Glenirvine Farms in Fergus, Ontario. As a pioneer of automated milking systems, the company obtained its first voluntary milking patent in 1982, and through a subsidiary company installed on-farm milking robots in Holland in the early 1990s.

Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia reaffirms quota cap policy

At a Dairy Farmers of Nova Scotia (DFNS) special members meeting Aug. 2, the 176 licensed producers present overwhelmingly passed a motion to reaffirm support of the quota cap policy and direct the board to rescind its decision to remove the cap. The motion passed 163 to two; only one person abstained.
