If I have been on your farm in the past three decades, you most likely heard me quote my grandfather on my mother’s side. He was the cow guy in my life: my mentor, my sounding board, my guiding light and my kicker-of-butts when I needed it. He was the king of one-liners, storytelling and the keeper of every corny joke ever told in the history of mankind.

Ensuring your cows are healthy will improve their productivity, longevity, fertility and resistance to disease, along with reducing the costs of upkeep. A key to this well-being is controlling and limiting their stress.

Another attempt to ensure students have more milk options with their school breakfasts and lunches has been introduced in the House of Representatives. The bipartisan School Milk Nutrition Act of 2019 was introduced June 5. A similar bill was introduced in 2017.
