Better late than never is an oft-used phrase in my vocabulary. It’s one of those things you can whip out when you don’t have anything nicer to say.

At the 2025 Range Beef Cow Symposium, held in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Jay Parsons with the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL) facilitated a panel discussion focused on rebuilding the cow herd.

Tyler Cozzens, agricultural economist with the Livestock Marketing Information Center, shared an update on the global beef market, and Troy Applehans, a senior market analyst with CattleFax, also discussed the current state of the cattle markets and gave an outlook for 2026 at the 2025 Range Beef Cow Symposium held in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

Life can’t and shouldn’t be one big joke, but keep your sense of humor handy, even if it’s aimed at yourself.

Cattle people are the same, no matter where you’re from, and you can always rely on finding a friend, new or old, when you find a gathering of “your people” – in this case, cattle folks.
