What education are you bringing with you to this position?

I have a bachelor of science in animal science and a minor in business from the University of Missouri.

Please describe your agricultural background.
I was in the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR) at the University of Missouri, studying pre-veterinary medicine when I discovered my passion for agriculture. I was very involved in the CAFNR. I also enjoyed volunteering and interning with different veterinary practices, organizations and the university's veterinary school.

What territory will you cover?
Minnesota and northeast Iowa

What are your new responsibilities?
I am responsible for supporting and growing the calf and heifer business at Purina Animal Nutrition, as well as recommending calf nutrition plans that will influence the productive life of each animal.

What previous positions have you held?
I was a territory sales representative for Alltech for two and a half years, working with all species and covering the state of Minnesota. In my most recent role, I was a calf and heifer specialist for Purina Animal Nutrition for two years, working out of a co-op in southeast Minnesota.

What excites you most about working in your new role?

I am eager to see many different dairy operations in the upper Midwest and have the opportunity to work with them in growing their businesses in this volatile industry. I am also excited to bring producers new technology to their calf raising programs and be a contributor to their success.

What goals would you like to accomplish while in this position?
My goal as a regional calf and heifer specialist will be to bring the best nutritional solutions and recommendations to producers, allowing them the opportunity to improve and manage their overall calf and heifer program. I plan to achieve this by continuing to provide the highest level of service to my customers and dairy producers throughout my territory. PD
