Each year a wide variety of topics are presented ranging from nutrition and reproduction to dairy policy and challenges facing the dairy industry.

The dairy industry looks to this seminar for solutions to emerging issues, and for information about recent research results. The design of the conference is such that timely and relevant issues are the focus of the presentations. In addition to the formal program, there is ample opportunity for one-on-one discussions between the speakers and participants.

This year, Tuesday, March 5 is the pre-conference tour of three local dairy farms, as well as a pre-conference symposium for nutritionists: “Getting the most out of rations: Troubleshooting feed bunk management,” facilitated by Trevor DeVries from the University of Guelph.

Seminar sessions will be held at the Sheraton in Red Deer, Alberta.

Wednesday's sessions focus on the current and future challenges of dairying, reproduction and the dairy industry-consumer continuum. Thursday's sessions address new approaches and technology, feeding and forages, and digital dermatitis and lameness. Friday is dedicated to sessions on dairy health and productivity.  PD
