The new blog, "BRD Report: From the Fence Post," will provide insights from nationwide experts and best practices about stress, nutrition, transportation, facilities management and clinical signs of disease. It also reviews comparative studies, relevant peer-reviewed articles and industry news.

"Given its substantial annual toll on animal health, productivity and welfare, it’s important to put a spotlight on this serious health challenge, share the wealth of knowledge from a broad array of industry professionals and work together to better manage the disease and its effects,” says Rick Sibbel, DVM and director of U.S. cattle technical services for Merck Animal Health.

Contributing bloggers will include university researchers, nutritionists and livestock producers, as well as Merck Animal Health veterinarians.

“At Merck Animal Health, we are not only dedicated to supporting the science of healthier animals, but also to providing our customers with solutions and resources. We hope this blog will serve as a catalyst to create greater awareness of the many facets of this significant disease,” says Dr. Sibbel.  end mark
