The Progressive Publishing editorial team is happy to welcome Taryn Cox as the Progressive Cattle summer intern.

Cox is excited for this opportunity as it allows her to work at the intersection of journalism and the cattle industry – two fields she cares deeply about.

This summer, she'll be contributing to feature stories, Q&A segments, topical pieces and anything else that comes her way. Cox looks forward to learning from the editorial team, interviewing producers and experts and getting a closer look at who and what is shaping the cattle industry today.

"A bit about me: I just finished my sophomore year at Kansas State University, where I am majoring in agricultural and natural resources communications, with a minor in agricultural economics and a beef ranch management undergraduate certificate. I serve as one of the directors for the Junior Red Angus Association and am a chairperson for the Western States Red Angus Association. I hail from Walla Walla, Washington, where I grew up on a commercial cattle backgrounding operation. My family and I transitioned into the purebred Red Angus business a little less than 10 years ago, which eventually led me to running my own small herds of Red Angus and Charolais cows," shared Cox.
