Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a two- or four-year accredited college, university or trade school and pursuing a career in the dairy industry. In its second year, the AMPLI-Calf Technology Tanbark Challenge, hosted by Land O’Lakes Purina Feed, named six winners at the 2010 All American Dairy Show in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, and 12 winners at the 2010 World Dairy Expo in Madison, Wisconsin. The owners of the highest placing spring, winter and fall calves fed calf starter containing AMPLI-Calf Technology were recognized for their show ring success and received a $250 cash prize.

Southeast Dairy Coalition born in Atlanta, Georgia

September 24, 2010
As a follow up to the August 5 multi-state meeting in Athens, Tennessee, dairy producers from Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas returned to the table on Sept. 9 -- this time in Atlanta, Georgia -- where they voted to form the Southeast Dairy Coalition. Three producers from Florida, and one from Alabama, who had attended the August meeting in Tennessee, were unable to make the September meeting in Georgia; however, they each indicated their keen interest to participate as the coalition moves forward. The group is also reaching out to South Carolina and Louisiana to bring the number of states to 11.
