Nevada county milk commission to oversee sales of raw goat’s milk, not cow’s milk

In the state of Nevada, sale of raw milk is legal, but, at least for now, only in Nye County can residents lawfully purchase the non-pasteurized product. In neighboring Clark County, the sale of raw milk is still illegal, which, according to the Las Vegas Sun, has created a version of the black market in Las Vegas neighborhoods, operating out of minivans in driveways.

Emma Miller, representing Linn and Benton Counties, was crowned the 2015 Oregon Dairy Princess-Ambassador during ceremonies on Jan. 17. The 56th annual coronation event was hosted by the Oregon Dairy Women at the Red Lion Hotel in Salem. Miller was among six county contestants vying for the 2015 title. U.S. federal court ruling: Farms can be liable for pollution from manure

In an unprecedented decision, a U.S. federal court has ruled that manure from livestock facilities can be regulated as solid waste.On Jan. 14, Judge Thomas Rice of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington ruled that Cow Palace Dairy of Granger, Washington, polluted ground water by over-applying manure to soil.
