Hundreds of youth and their parents, as well as their dairy cows, will gather July 15-19 at the Michigan State University Pavilion for Agriculture and Livestock Education for Michigan 4-H Dairy Days and the 17th annual Michigan Dairy Expo.

The 2013 Wisconsin Championship Show will be July 15-16 in Lancaster, held in coordination with the state Red and White Holstein Show. The event is set to feature Wisconsin's best from the nine district shows held in June.

The FDA approved that two Zoetis products can now be used together to improve the reproductive performance of dairy herds. Approved is Factrel sterile solution for use with Lutalyse sterile solution to synchronize estrous cycles for fixed-time artificial insemination in lactating dairy cows.

The U.S. corn industry experienced a significant "growth spurt" beginning in the 2007-08 marketing year that continued through the 2011-12 marketing year. That 5-year boom period was characterized by larger consumption, larger production, and higher prices; a combination that demonstrates the strong demand for U.S. corn beginning in 2007-08. The issue moving forward is whether or not demand for U.S. corn has peaked.
