California Dairies Inc. (CDI), the nation’s second largest dairy processing cooperative, and its board of directors has announced the appointment of Andrei Mikhalevsky as president and chief executive officer effective Jan. 1. Mikhalevsky will succeed Richard L. Cotta, who will retire on Dec. 31.


Mikhalevsky brings more than 35 years of leadership experience to CDI. For the past five years he has served as the managing director of global ingredients and foodservices at Fonterra Cooperative Group Ltd., the world’s largest dairy exporter.

Previously, Mikhalevsky held executive positions at Campbell Soup Company, Georgia Pacific and Symrise Inc. Mikhalevsky is a graduate of Stetson University with a bachelor’s degree in finance. In addition, he has attended the Food Executive Program at the University of Southern California. PD
