Novus International, Inc. announced that Thad Simons, president and CEO, received the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2010 Bioscience Award in the Central Midwest region. According to Ernst & Young LLP, the award recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses. An independent panel of judges selected Simons and the award was presented at a gala event at the Overland Park Sheraton on June 2, 2010.


Novus International, based in metropolitan St. Louis, is a global leader in creating science-based health and nutrition solutions for the poultry, swine, dairy, beef, aquaculture, companion animal and human markets. “As a visionary with an entrepreneurial spirit, Mr. Simons has a sincere determination to raise the quality of life for people around the world,” stated Sabrena Hamilton, vice president, Global Human Resources, Novus International. “Thad is a successful president and CEO whose genuine desire to build a strong organization based on integrity is as inspiring as it is noble.”

Despite economic challenges caused by the global recession, Simons has continued to guide Novus forward, doubling the number of employees from 300 to more than 800 globally and achieving sales approaching $1 billion. The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards celebrated its 24th anniversary this year. The program honors entrepreneurs who have demonstrated exceptionality in such areas as innovation, financial performance and personal commitment to their businesses and communities.

As a Central Midwest award winner, Simons is now eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young LLP Entrepreneur Of The Year 2010 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California on Nov. 13, 2010
