The use of byproduct feeds has been a longtime practice on dairy farms. In fact, about one-third of a cow’s diet – representing anywhere from 32 to 41 million metric tons nationally each year – consists of byproducts from crop or food company production. This is food that is either indigestible or undesirable for human consumption but offers nutritional benefits to cows.

USDA awards Native Microbials a $1.4 million grant for climate-smart agriculture
Native Microbials was recently awarded a $1.4 million grant from the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) program.
